About Us

 Who We Are

Elim is a rural fellowship with a relevant message of grace, hope, and love for the 21st Century. For over 158 years Elim has been seeking to please God, presenting the Christ of the Bible, and proclaiming the truth of scripture. We are a caring and compassionate fellowship made up of genuine followers of the Lord Jesus from all walks of life. Our strength is not in the size of our church, it is in the greatness of our gracious God, the presence of our loving Lord, and transforming power of the Holy Spirit. We seek neither to be traditional nor contemporary but to be biblical in every dimension of our church life. You will find loving people with open arms at Elim who are ready to welcome you. Come and see.

What We Do

Elim’s mission is fivefold:

Jesus

To introduce every person in Fort White and all the people groups of the world to our awesome Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Grow

To assist all those who receive Him in their spiritual growth.

Guide

To guide them in understanding God’s will for their life.

Discover

To aid in the discovery of their spiritual gifts and provide opportunities to use those gifts in worship, witness and work.

Disciple

To develop a faithful follower of Christ who is a visible, touchable, and creditable display of God’s grace and mercy.

“For over 158 years Elim Baptist has been growing disciples of Jesus Christ. Here you will find loving people with open arms at Elim who are ready to welcome you. Come and see!”

What We Believe

God

There is only one God manifested in the triune godhead, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Mark 12:29-30)

Jesus

There is only one Mediator between God and man, the Lord Jesus Christ who came to save all that would receive Him. (John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10, I Tim.2:5)

Man

Man by nature is a sinner and can only be redeemed through the atoning work of Christ. Man is saved only by God’s grace and not of any works. (Ro.3:23, 6:23, Eph.2:8-9)

Bible

The Bible is the infallible, inerrant Word of God and is our only authority for faith and practice and is given for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction. (II Tim.3:16)

Church

The Church is Christ’s spiritual body made up of all believers but is made visible by the fellowship of believers in each local community. To be part of His Church one must repent of their sins, ask for forgiveness of their sins, and surrender themselves to Christ as Savoir and Lord. The Church’s mission is local and worldwide evangelism followed by developing those brought to Christ into mature believers. The ministry of the Church is accomplished through Christians’ faithful stewardship of their time, gifts, talents, and resources. The two ordinances of the Church are Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. (Matt.16:18, 28:19-20, Acts 1:8, 2:37-38, 41-47)

Rapture

The Rapture of the Church happens just before the Great Tribulation as recorded in the book of Revelation. (I Thes.4:13-18, II Thes.2:1-12)

Return of Christ

The Return of Christ at the end of the Great Tribulation to reign on earth for a 1000 years, followed by the Devil being cast into hell, followed by the Great White Throne judgment and eternal punishment for all those who have rejected  Christ. (Rev.1:4-8, 4:1-11, 19:11-20)

New Heaven and New Earth

The New heaven and earth where all those who have received Christ shall enjoy God for all eternity. (John 14:1-6, Rev.21-22)

Marriage

The Covenant Union between a man and woman and God. (Gen. 2:24-25, Matt.19:4-6, Eph. 5:31-33) For more see Baptist Faith and Message.
